A much-anticipated feature that allows for smooth call transfers between devices has been released with Google Meet.

Today, Google’s Workspace blog made an official announcement about this new feature.

This feature makes it possible to switch between devices when on Meet calls. Users may now quickly switch to a different device mid-conversation with a single press, regardless of whether they are starting the call on a laptop or a smartphone.

Google claims that this upgrade gives users more options for how they may communicate inside Meet.

The new capability allows users to initiate a Meet call on their laptop and move it from there, or vice versa.

Users may start the device transfer without stopping the call by using the new “Switch here” icon while the call is still in progress.

The new capability will function on several platforms, allowing users to transfer discussions between PC, iOS, and Android.

When a device switch is activated, the call will move from the original device to the new one, breaking the connection.

Google Meet provides a feature called “Other joining options” for customers who would like to keep the meeting open on both devices at the same time.

This feature gives consumers freedom and control over their phone experience by enabling them to join the same conference on two devices at the same time.

This feature is now being sent out to users on the Rapid Release track, and in the upcoming weeks, it should be made available to all users.

Users are advised to upgrade the Meet app on their chosen mobile device in order to take advantage of this new functionality and get ready to experience Meet’s future of communication.
